Job Title: Ski Valet
Department: Retail & Rental

Status: Seasonal FT

Reporting To: Director, Retail & Rental

Position Overview:

The Ski Valet is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and professional service to all guests, assisting them with their ski and snowboard equipment. This role is integral to enhancing the guest experience by offering seamless support, maintaining organized ski storage, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the ski valet area. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, detail-oriented, and possess a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service Excellence:

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, offering assistance with skis, snowboards, boots and poles.
• Assist guests with the proper handling and storage of their equipment.
• Provide information about resort services, ski conditions, and local amenities as needed.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond to inquiries or requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Advise guests on ski and snowboard maintenance and tuning needs, facilitating the process as a seamless part of the experience.
• Ensure all guest interactions reflect Powder Haven's commitment to exceptional service.

Equipment Handling and Storage:

• Receive, tag, and securely store guest ski and snowboard equipment in designated areas, as per the Powder Haven Ski Valet SOP.
• Retrieve guest equipment promptly and efficiently upon request.
• Maintain accurate records of all stored equipment.
• Handle all equipment with care to prevent damage.

Area Maintenance and Safety:

• Keep the ski valet area clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
• Regularly inspect equipment storage racks and areas for cleanliness and functionality.
• Assist with snow removal and de-icing around the ski valet entrance as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures outlined in the Powder Haven Ski Valet SOP and resort guidelines.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with other guest services and resort departments to ensure a cohesive and positive guest experience.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any guest issues, equipment concerns, or operational needs.

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hospitality or resort environment, is highly desirable.
• Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment is a plus.
• Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• 18+ years of age

Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry heavy ski and snowboard equipment (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various, often extreme, winter weather conditions.
• Fully insulated, waterproof uniform provided.

Working Environment:

Work is performed inside and outside consisting of extreme temperatures, sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), and high altitudes (9,000 ft+).
