RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

\n

• Work 3 x 12-hour day shifts
\n• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
\n• No on-call responsibilities
\n• Float between MS Tele and Neuro Units
\n• Patient ratio of 6:1 on nights
\n• 48-bed unit with daily census of 48 patients
\n• Care for adult and geriatric patients
\n• 12 hours of orientation provided
\n• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
\n• 2 years of experience required with strong neuro telemetry background
\n• Must have experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, feeding tube care, blood product administration, central line management
\n• Experience required with heparin protocols, PCA, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injury care
\n• Previous charge experience required
\n• Required certifications: RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
\n• Must have compact license or Maryland license
\n• Two supervisor references required
\n• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
\n• Work with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
\n• Handle patient diagnoses including CVA, TIA, seizure, AMS, and behavioral health co-morbidities
\n• Unit utilizes continuous EEG monitoring and teams-based model of care
